Roboset Hydroskin™

A training model designed for the adoption and demonstration of surgical training skills, the Roboset ™ Hydroskin™ Class II is a versatile tool with multiple exercises to measure proficiency and efficacy during minimally invasive surgery. The two layers composing of the Roboset ™ Hydroskin™ and the Roboset ™ ramp aim to take virtual reality simulation exercises into the real world.

Recommended Exercises

- Ring and rail: Using needle drivers, move the three rings, one at a time, from one side to the other and back again, minimizing tension on the rail.

- Pick and Place: Using needle drivers, move the 5 rings on peg 1 to peg 2 one at a time and then back again. Record any drops, a penalty can be added to the time.

- Thread the ring: Using needle drivers, using a suture and needle (approx. 15cm long) pass the needle through each eyelet in a clockwise fashion starting at bottom left, continue through all 6 eyelets. Record any drops, a penalty can be added to the time.

- Dissect the circle: Using a scissors (cold cut or electrocautery), dissect the circle from the RoboSET Skin ensuring precise cutting around the shape.

- Dissect the star: Using a cold cut with scissors (cold cut or electrocautery), dissect the star from the RoboSET Skin ensuring precise cutting around the shape.

- Excise the lump and close the skin: Using scissors, extract the lump from under the skin and close the defect, with two interrupted stitches using needle drivers.

- Skin defect: Using needle drivers, close the 2 incisions using suture of your choice with a minimum of three continuous throws per incisions
