The Gastric Model (Class II) is a highly realistic stomach model designed for practicing and demonstrating upper gastrointestinal (GI) surgical skills such as gastric mobilisation, creating a sleeve gastrectomy, and basic anastomosis techniques for a gastric bypass. It mimics human tissue response during surgical procedures, including stapling, suturing, and diathermy.
This model replicates the key anatomical structures of the upper GI tract, featuring the stomach (with fundus, body, antrum, and pylorus), 8 cm (3.15 in) of oesophagus, and 15 cm (5.91 in) of small intestine. Its double-walled construction varies in thickness to closely resemble the complexities of human anatomy.
The model is designed to accurately simulate surgical instrument access to the stomach, minimizing unrealistic instrument clashes. It can be used with a variety of stapling technologies, sutured with both barbed and non-barbed sutures, and can be used with monopolar energy when used in conjunction with our Right Hemicolectomy Fat Base.
